Settings Issue: Personalization "Background" Setting Does Not Take

Greetings... One of my favorite (fun) settings in Personalization was the "Slide Show" option for Background (desktop). It used to work just fine, but suddenly it just reverted to a solid color background. When I try to restore the "Slide Show" option, the system does not retain my input. There is no error message. Also, I don't see any indication for "saving" the setting change in the Personalization interface. I enter the "Slide Show" and select the source folder. When I close out the window, the setting is lost. I am running Windows 10, version 1909 -- with the current update. Any suggestions?

    Welcome to Ten Forums @PicksCDs

Personalization of the desktop is only possible if Windows is activated. Check if yours has somehow lost activation in Settings > Update & Security > Activation.

If it says 'Windows is activated with a digital license....' then in a Command Prompt (Admin) run the command SFC /SCANNOW

Run SFC Command in Windows 10

Thanks for the prompt reply. I followed your recommendation and my version of Windows is "activated" (and current), but there was no reference a digital license or any indication of an error.
