I have not used a screensaver since the late 90's. With a CRT they helped, with modern LCD flat screens they just use resources.

I think none of my power management preferences work. When I come back to my screen after hours no preferences are implemented. It gets me to thinking some event like a mouse move or event on some port is continuously waking the system up. Is there a way to check this? Going to try a fix from previous post too now.

Now my mouse is jumping all over the place and focus of text fields is erratic. Hard to do anything. Did the routine suggested for this but no fix. Did malware scan, didn't help. It's a Sony Vaio with a factory bloatware install I got as a gift. So I'm going to do a Win 10 fresh install. So end of thread I guess. I've been using MS OS's since DOS. From Win2000 to Win7 I never had a blue screen, skipped Win8 and with Win10 I occasionally get a blue a blue screen on older gear which doesn't have proper driver support on Win10. Anyway fresh install.
