I'm just curious, when the PC is loading and it shows the Windows logo and the little spinning circle below it, is there a way to change what's displayed there?
I really don't like the Windows logo redesign, if I could put in what Windows 7 had or something, or any other image/animation, I'd like to do that.
OEMs can replace that with their own logo embedded in the UEFI firmware, My Dell does that. But apart from hacking your firmware (not recommended!) then no, you can't.

My Windows system boots up so quick that I'm at the login screen so I've no idea of those spinning things etc -- even on a VM I get near instant boot.
If logon takes a while grab a coffee / beer or something -- why look at a screen doing essentially nothing other than loading the OS.
However even if the BIOS logo is built into the computer firmware it in theory should be "doable" on the efi partition on a bootable EFI HDD. ( in directory /efi/boot or might be /boot depending on your system)
for example (OK it's a Linux system here but the principle is the same :)

Boot 0000,0002, and 0011 are on my current boot SSD drive -- these are user accessible writeable access files so presumably could be modified to have a decent splash screen at start up.
If Windows doesn't have an easy way of displaying the boot files in the efi partition then just boot up a live linux distro and install efibootmgr on it and run the command.
I'm sure Windows must have something similar to get at the efi files (easy Bcd for instance).
Somewhere in this mess should be a solution : !!! (BTW grub CAN boot windows without any issue --GRUB2 is the version).
Now I've no idea how the boot / grub / efi system works so all I can suggest for those willing to have a go at tinkering with this stuff is to ensure they have a decent backup before the start -- otherwise you'll have a non bootable computer !!!
