I changed the display background to a ridiculous JPG that I had loitering around...and it took it.
Then, on a whim, I clicked on my desired background, and VOILA! It worked!
Don't ask me why...but I'm a happier camper now.
Nice to hear. I was just going to suggest to run CMD as Admin and run sfc /scannow, but if it changed now you may not need it. Maybe the system just needed to index some things. Got me, but I'm glad you can change it again.
