1903 start screen pure black-not!

Hi all,
OK, this is driving me nuts. I like having a deep black start background. I get a grayish overlay instead of black now since updating. All of the usual suspects (dark theme, etc.) are already set. I can even see it go from black to grayish when the tablet (Surface Go) starts up. Happens on this and my SP3. So it's something they did with 1903.
Whoever can help will be my God-emperor! 👍👍👍

The only way I could achieve it was using Start full screen...

I've tried both of these and no joy. There has to be a registry hack somewhere. This is getting like Apple. Won't be able to customize at all soon.

I don't like that grayish color either. I can get you a little closer to your all black. Go to settings/Personalize/colors/scroll down to the "transparency effects toggle and turn it off.

I can only get it down to 31/31/31 RGB

You can force the color with Windows 10 Color Control, but, the Start UI still won't use it!

Got it! Downloaded Winaero Tweaker and enabled Aero lite. Nice and deep black now. Thanks all!��������

I'm an Android guy...not sure how to do that with Windows. But I guarantee it did the job. Just had to go back and tweak some of the custom colors is all.
