Remove Quick Access from "Open/Save As" Dialogs?

    Windows version: W10, LTSB 2016 (build 1607).

Hi I'm wondering if someone can help me. I'm trying to remove Quick Access from the Open/Save dialog boxes and I'm stumped. I've removed Quick Access from File Explorer itself, but I can't seem to find out how to remove it on here.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers. :)

Hi, I don't know which open/save dialogue that is in particular- i.e. related to which program, but please note that some dialogues of that sort look deceptively similar to 'MS' open/save dialogues, but are actually custom ones.

You have to disable Quick Access from the registry.

The Save/Open Dialog I posted above was from Seamonkey, which is a fork of Firefox. I've no idea there's multiple versions of these dialog, but here is the one from Windows Media Player which shows Quick Access on it as well:

As for removing Quick Access from the File Explorer, I've done that:

I've even edited Quick Access in the registry by changing it's name and icon, so the one showing up in the Save/Open Dialog is it's own entry, but here's the thing: I can't find it anywhere in the registry. I'm stumped.

Thank you both for your help, I appreciate it.

Did you see this in the link I posted? I don't know if it will do what you want, but worth checking.

To Remove the Quick Access Feature Entirely

You’ll need to edit the registry for this procedure.
    1. Hide Quick Access using the steps in the above section.
    2. Once that’s done, click windows start button and type regedit, right click and run as administrator.
    3. Navigate to: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID{679f85cb-0220-4080-b29b-5540cc05aab6}
    4. Expand it, and right-click ShellFolder.
    5. Select Permissions, and click the Advanced button.
    6. In the 'Advanced Security Settings for ShellFolder' box, click the 'Change' link,
    7. Then click 'Advanced',
    8. Click the 'Find Now' button,
    9. And in the 'Search results' box select 'Administrators'.
    10. Click OK twice, then Apply, and hit OK until the boxes closes.
    11. Make sure you allow Full Control (click)
    12. Inside 'ShellFolder', double-click 'Attributes', and change data value to 'a0600000', then click OK.
    13. With that done, reboot your PC.
    14. When you open File Explorer next time, Quick Access should be gone.

    Yep, I've done that:

I've also changed it's name in the LocalizedString and it's icon in DefaultIcon so it matches the old "History" folder from past Windows version. The Quick Access entry showing up in the Save/Open dialogs isn't being affected by the changes I made.

This second Quick Access must be using it's own CLSID entry, but I can't find it in the registry at all.

    Success!

Adding the DWORD "HubMode" and setting it to 1 removed Quick Access.

Thank you so much, this was driving me nutty. You've made my morning!
