Customizer God works fine in all current builds of Windows 10, including TH2 (build 10586) updated up to 10586.104 I actually use the old version of Customizer God in which you have to press CTRL+O to manually open the DLL to modify. Haven't tried the new version, but it should also work fine.

How I got Icon Changer to work on x64 Win 10.
(This changes 77 icons to Win 7 style, just by running the program and restarting- or should do!)This was easy in the 32 bit version, but try as I might, this would not work with the 64 bit version. It has to be run as admin, requires a restart, and might require the icon cache to be rebuilt.

The trick was to run it in Win 8 compatibility mode. Unexpected, but at least that worked for me.
That was what the compatibility troubleshooter suggested, anyway.

I just wanted to let future readers know that I followed dalchina's instructions and they wokred! The only icons that didn't change on my desktop were the folders that had files in them. To fix this just create a new folder and put the files in there and then the folder icon will look like Windows 7/8

However I prefer Customizer God. All you have to do is to replace all icons in file imageres.dll with the icons from the Windows 7 or Windows 8 version of imageres.dll. I have extracted all these icons to a folder for easy use in new Windows 10 installations. I just open imageres.dll, click on any icon, press CRTL+A to select all and then click on change. Browse to the folder with the icons, that's it!

Customizer God works perfectly even on new Windows 10 1607

    Hello!

Somewhere in this thread I posted that I had problems changing the icons in my main Windows 10 Pro 64-bit PC. In version 1511 (Threshold 2, TH2, build 10586) I changed the icons but then there was a bug. Right-clicking on the network, sound volume or the safe removal icon did nothing! I had to run sfc /scannow to restore the original DLL files to gain right-click functionality and this was very annoying since I missed the good-looking Windows 8 icons. Yesterday I upgraded to the newer Windows 10 Pro version 1607 Anniversary Edition (build 14393). As expected all customizations were cancelled and I had to do them again. I used the same old version of Customizer God I have, didn't download the latest version. I changed all the icons successfully to their Windows 8 counterparts and logoff/logon for the changes to take effect. I then tried right-clicking the same icons and it worked as expected! So it seems the new version 1607 is better or it was some bug in my previous installation that was fixed! Either way I recommend upgrading to the new version! I spotted some interesting new features in traditional Control Panel, like Windows to Go. I'll have a closer look and post again!
