Give a exe a Ico which has none ?

I have a exe to a app thats in development from some programmer .
But he didnt give it a ico image.

Is there a way to give the exe itself a ico image ?

    ( I don't want to make a shortcut to it )

    Thanks.

Note ( I attempted to use Resource Hcker ; but the files for the exe in question appears to have no
Icon or .ico folders . I guess because it has no icon . Its just a generic looking exe.

Icon files are included in the .exe file of a program or a supporting .dll file by the programmer. You'd have to use a graphics editor such as MSPaint to create the .ico file then rewrite the .exe file to include either the icon or a link to where the file is located. Creating a shortcut is the easiest way and in Properties of the shortcut use one of the Change icon choices provided by Windows or a custom icon located in the same Folder as the program installed in.

Put a shortcut in the programs folder and add the icon if you don't want it on the desktop or start menu.

If you are familiar with Resource Hacker, then you can add an icon to the exe itself using RH. The icon can be either one you create or download. There are a few online resources that let you create icons and download them.

Actually the answer was in Resource hacker. I just wasnt noticing which button to press . some steps also can cause error in its menu preventing it from saving as .Eventually the settings worked after repeated attempts.Give a exe a Ico which has none ?-save-has-rh.png
    Now i dont need a shortcut .
