    Control Panel Applets (Category View)

    Hello All,

I was just wondering if anyone knows where or how I can get hold of the CLSID (GUIDs) for the Control Panel Applets in Category View in the image below:

I think @dalchina is correct, there doesn't seem to be CLSID's for those specific groups.

If you are looking to create shortcuts for those, you can drag and drop them to the Desktop...

    Thank you, Brink.

But I do not see how to make use of those open applet commands to achieve what I want.

It's OK, thank you for your suggestion Brink.

    Andrew,

I suppose it depends on what you wanted to use the CSLIDs for.

What I posted was just something that can be used as an alternative for opening those CP items.

    Hi Brink,

It is basically for icon customisation purpose. I need to know those Control Panel Applets' GUIDs in order to change where they look for their icons.

Those icons are not Shortcuts but one could right-click an item and Create a Shortcut on the Desktop then change the icon for that new shortcut. The shortcuts can't be stored in Control Panel itself but a Folder could be created to hold those customized icons.
