Prevent image crop on live folders

Is it possible to prevent Live folders from using a cropped image therefore giving the same appearance as previous versions of Windows have provided? As an example my TV and Movie libraries have folder.jpg in use in every top level folder with the image being 1000x668 pixels, it's generally faster identifying a folder by the artwork then the name and I really hate how someone that seeing square mages would somehow be a better option.

Thanks for the reply thought this isn't an error with cache it's a function of the OS to crop the thumbnailed image appearing on a live folder whereas Windows 7 & 8 (possibly Vista?) would resize said image. I don't have access to an earlier OS however attach a capture of Windows 10 behavior

Try changing folder view to content.

Try pulling an icon/jpeg for what you want the folder view to be, and go to

No change unfortunately, whether specified or automaticlly selected the OS has been coded to crop into a square image, as far as I know their is no in built in, user available setting for changing this

    Hi,
I do have win-7 but no folders with a single image in them and once there is 2 or more it shows two image one on top of the other so neither is clearly viable meaning back one is larger but mostly blocked by a smaller one in front which is sort of useless to really identify either.

I use details view on everything and accurate names with pixel sizes usually
Folders are similar obviously without pixel sizes

I believe it's file name dependant though I use 8.1 on my primary desktop not 7. The media libraries I mentioned previously are made up of a cover image of the movie/series (folder.jpg), a background image (backdrop.jpg) and sub folders if a TV series for each season of the show under this format only folder.jpg is displayed on the live folder. When I previously used Emby as a media server it would download it's own artwork if local files weren't found with the default for the cover art being poster.jpg not folder.jpg in this instance I'd end up geting all image files thumbnailed in the live view.

Yeah I moved to Plex about a year ago - that's branching out from the core query though
