Aeroglass now available for build 1903

    Aero Glass for Win8+

I found there was a problem trying to download the installer from there (message is in Czech) so I used Google:

    Download Aero Glass 1.3 For Windows 8 / 1.5.12 For Windows 8.1+
    - then carefully pick version 1.5.12 for Win 8+

(I tried techspot, another search result, but the download proved to be the wrong version).

Yes, builds have been available since Win 8. A few months after each major Win 10 build a new build of Aeroglass is released.

You can somewhat tweak it with an 'experimental' tweak tool.

The paid version has no watermark and updates as necessary to the DWM symbols. It can add a narrow border to UWP apps too.

It has no effect on programs with non-standard frames.

With that and one program to change lots of icons to Win 7, I'm much happier-

Unfortunate. Never had a problem like that fortunately.

Now how do you protect yourself and very often save yourself from doing a clean install when there's a major problem?
Use disk imaging routinely as is so often advocated here.

Then you can restore you PC from your latest image file- Windows, or any disk or partition you have imaged.

You should be safe even if your disk fails.

E.g. Macrium reflect (free) + external storage for disk image files.

Yo, so very late to the convo, but wanted to point out.. By the screenshots [and looking at the link's url], it looks like what he's running is a pirated copy of the AeroGlass mod for Windows8+ by BigMuscle. A word of advice, that one CAN and WILL break your DWM if you install an unsupported build.

Always get it from the official website so you know you have the right build, and always download the one that says its for the build of Windows 10 that you are running.

Here is the official website for those who want it: Aero Glass for Win8+

As of this response it works on Windows 10 RTM all the way to Windows 10 1909. But it does not work on Windows 10 v2004 20H1 and the final few updates for Windows 10 1909 require a manual fix to make it work since they broke it in Windows 10 1909. Details on that can be found here: KB4549951 18362.778 broke Aeroglass - Aero Glass For Windows 8+ - MSFN

For those who use this, another tool you may find interesting, which of course is much safer to use is called Old New Explorer. It restores the Windows 7 styled layout to your file explorer. As of this post, you can get that from: OldNewExplorer 1.1.9 - StartIsBack+ - MSFN
