Welcome screen - How to dump this thing?

I've already tried several methods outlined here - Taking ownership of the jpg's in the C\Windows\Web\Screen folder, disabling the Welcome screen background to scrap the beach cave pic, but I still get the damn 'Welcome' screen (but now with a plain blue background, so that's something )
Is there no way of disabling this screen? Or skipping it so it doesn't show?
I'd rather press the Start button and see nothing else until the desktop loads.

Thanks, Jimbo, but that info isn't relevant. I don't use a password and I'm already logging in automatically.
What I want is to skip the Welcome page entirely.

LOL. No, Ed, it's not the Lock Screen. That's a different thing - already done that.

Edwin, yeah, that's the one. Hey, it goes away after 2-3 secs, but it annoys me that I can't control it (grrr)
    Cheers

EDIT: thomaseg1 - sorry, didn't see your post . But yes, that one.

EDIT: Well, if it can't be removed, maybe the time it shows on-screen can be changed to 'as-brief-as-possible'? Anyone know? Shawn? You're the Guru. Is it possible?

No ^ he doesn't need to disable the lock screen.

I think the OP is looking at it wrong, the welcome screen is a loading screen whilst the desktop is being loaded... the alternative is a blank screen which would cause all sorts of panic.
