    change order in context menu

How can I change the order of options in a context menu?
    OS: Windows 10 Pro ver.1809 b.17763.503

I couldn't find the option I'd like to move higher in the registry so it must hide as binary
but the question is general for context menus
    thank you

Hi, that's not straightforward, and is not, I think possible for Windows default entries.

The list is partly enumerated, partly in registry order... it's not entirely fixed.

    rearranging context menus

    thank you Dalchina
In my case it appears to be connected to browsers. these are context menus that pop by right click in html pages. and they are different when used by Firefox, Brave, Chrome or Internet Explorer. but they are not in the browser's options, nor did I find them in the browsers entries in the registry.
It looks like a tough problem and context menu tweakers couldn't be of help. Maybe microsoft developpers didn't gave it a thought.
And to another question since you are an expert: is winver 1903 safe? (I'm now in 1809). I wasn't offered any updates and it looks like a big jump.
    thanks again

I'm guessing it's to do with the way the entries are contructed by those program's authors. As such, even if you were to tweak them, could get messy if that program is updated depending on how they are rewritten, or at best, reset to default again.

Is upgrading to 1903 safe? Is 1903 safe? - two different questions perhaps.

The upgrade process causing problems can be protected by making sure you have a current disk image before upgrading. As you have Pro, you have control of when to upgrade.

MS puts some blocks on some PC configurations for compatibility reasons, and again, if you read the 1903 News section articles, is throttling delivery by WU.

You can download the iso using the Media Creation tool now, which bypasses such checks.

Is it safe to use? Well, have a look at the comments of those who've installed it in those News threads. A couple of quirks have been noted, and questions asked. Answer also depends on how old your PC is - think driver compatibility).

Personally I defer feature updates (Pro allows that) and don't upgrade until at least the first major update is out.

    thank you again Dalchina
I decided to wait for 1903 until it is offered by windows updates
I thought an update that changes winver is major, but from your answer I understand that I don't know how to tell a major update from a regular/normal update. Where can I read about how to identify a major update?

1809 nominally means 2018, month 9. 1803 was 6 months (very approximately) before that.

17763 corresponds to 1809; the number afterwards starts from 0 usually and increases with each update until the next feature update which is 1903. (except it wasn't released in March of course).

'Feature update' = features change, and all system files are replaced and change build number (Properties, Details).

Updates between feature updates are further sub-classified in terms of being delivered by WU or not, and when in the monthly cycle they are released.

    E.g. see comments here:
    Cumulative Update KB4467682 Windows 10 v1803 Build 17134.441 - Nov. 27
