Same here, Emma. And if it won't obey me, then I chunk it inna dirt!

Sometimes when I'm in Fry's or Best Buy or even Office Depot and see something I would like more information about, the sales person will talk down to me. As we talk, I will get deeper into the subject and it's fun to watch his chin drop lower and lower. And then when it's appropriate, I drop the zinger . . . I'm a tech; I build and repair computers. I'm looking at this for one of the senior citizens I support. What's priceless is that I haven't told one falsehood.

I don't always do this; only when I'm talked down to.
Someone making low wages trying to help a customer by talking to them in a manor that they will understand and you think this is wrong? How are they to now the technical skills of every customer they try to help? Would you prefer someone to explain something to you in terms you don't understand? Now if they were trying to sell you on something you don't need then that would be different.

Why do you have to talk about "them" as low wage earners.

Ummm, Winuser, I qualified my statement with, "I don't always do this; only when I'm talked down to." And believe me, I know when someone's talking down to me; I've been there too many times, both as a senior citizen and as (dare I mention it?) a woman.

There is a way to talk to customers, and most sales people have conquered the knack. There is also a way of talking to a customer in a manner which they will understand which is not condescending. I wasn't talking about these types of sales people. Far from it; I do know the difference! And low wages have nothing to do with it, for sure!

I was talking about those who have such a superior attitude that they cannot comprehend that a senior citizen (and dare I mention it?) or a woman could possibly be anywhere near savvy about technical stuff. Those are the ones who get to me. And to whom I was referring.

I wrote a short short story back in 1986 about two experiences I had with two of those superior type salesmen I've encountered in my lifetime. It's called "Gentle Revenge". I've posted it in the Chillout Room: Gentle Revenge - Windows 10 Forums

Similar things happen to me too. I was buying some RAM in a store the other day and a young blonde advised me that RAM has spacing on the contact side that is not in the middle so I have to watch to put it right way. Had to ask her if I use hammer to mount it would it go in anyway. I left the store before she got it and had an answer.

    Shame on you, Count! Muahahahahahahahahahahaha

At least they hired a woman, and blonde yet! What I want to know is if she thought it would go in the wrong way!?!?

Yeah, I can laugh at silly things done by women too, but it's more fun to laugh at the guys.

Oh, here's all kinds of beautiful girls working at stores around here, boosting sales I would think, who's going to refuse something from them ? Yes I have run into some pretty knowledgeable blonds and other not so blond girls but looks like most of them are there instead of flowers.

All we got working at stores out here in the boonies are old fxrts of the male and female persuasion. Well, not really, but we do have a nice mixture going on . . . young and old.
