    Customize Start Menu App List

    Greetings,

I've already tried asking this in Microsoft Answers.

I have created an "Adobe" folder (below) in the Start Menu app list, to put Adobe apps in:

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Adobe

I have moved Acrobat Reader and Photoshop Elements into the app list's Adobe folder, but I when I right-click "Notification Manager for Acrobat Reader", there is no "Open file location" option. I've tried manually moving it, but the app isn't in any of these folders:

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    %AppData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    C:\Users\All Users\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
    C:\Users\Default\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

How can I move the app shortcut?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

Hi, my personal approach is to edit the start menu using a 3rd party start menu (free) such as Classic Shell / Open shell. Even if you don't use it as a start menu (it's just a program, and allows you to use both start menus, or simply to not run the program at all) you can use it to modify the start menu with full drag 'n drop support, rt click access to the relevant folders...

Just remember to stay within the limits supported by Win 10 style menus- they don't properly support more deeply nested folders in the start menu.

That is because "Notification Manager for Acrobat Reader" is a UWP app and no UWP app has a shortcut. Try right-clicking on Calculator, for example. That has no 'open file location' either.

We have added a UWP app named "Notification Manager for Adobe Reader" to support push notifications on Win 10 environment....

That App automatically installed itself as soon as I signed into Reader...,

I didn't see the use of the App so, I uninstalled it!

    Your Mileage may Vary!

Sounds like there's no way to fix this.

    Thanks for the input.
