    Windows Spotlight - Questions

I've been fighting the 'ever-irritating' Windows Spotlight lock screen issues and I have a couple of questions. First off, I *think* it is working on my machine(s) but I don't know for certain.

    1) When should I expect the image to change?
    • Once every 24 hours?
    • At each cold boot login screen?
    • After I get the login screen following a lid-closed sleep sequence?
    • Each time I 'WIN-L' to lock the computer?

    2) Does it matter that I use Firefox as opposed to Edge as my default browser?

    Thanks
    Jim

I can only answer one of those, no it does not matter what you use as your default browser.

I can answer the first question, or at least my personal experience. My Lockscreen Spotlight image (which I also see at boot) changes once roughly every 24 hours. It doesn't seem to be linked in any way to how often (or when) you cold boot.

It also doesn't seem to be at the same time every day. I suspect that, same as for the Windows Update automatic check, a random offset is added each day in order to prevent every machine in the world checking for updates (or Spotlight images) at the same time.
