How to organize downloads by file type so I can organize libraries

I just setup my libraries and I am tinkering with that area I want to be able to download .mp3 files straight to the Music folder. And then make extra folders in there example "music by Genre" and then "sample sounds" or "short songs as ring tones". And then do the same for videos and pdfs and such. I want all the .mp3 files to go into the main "Music" folder and then I can organize them into there own folders myself. But I want them to go in there own main folders once I click "Download".

I don't know how to do this by file type. There is more then likely a work around to help me with this or a program or even a firefox or google chrome add-on but I'm not sure what to really look for.

I want to organize my downloads automatically so my "Downloads" folder can stop looking like a mess and so I can start using libraries for what there made for organizing your files.

Might be achievable with a Firefox plugin such as:

I can't say definitely from having had a quick look at this if it would do what you want, and if not, suggests the possibility of there being one.

If so, ultimately it will be a matter of what you feel comfortable with, if there is a choice.

A different option would be to use a 3rd party program to do the sorting for you:

Automatically Sort Different File Types Into Proper Folders With Digital janitor
Digital Janitor is smart Windows Utility built to make file sorting extremely easy. It can help you save a lot of time, by automatically sorting out files into the folder, according to the file type, or other rules you specify and then further filtering becomes very easy.

I decided to give the digital janitor a little look and believe it might be my best option currently. So I just downloaded it now I just need to figure out how it works.

Thank you for the help with this.

You could consider a download manager - you can define folders by file type if that's what you want:
