    Cool, I'm in then.

PS... Didn't have to backup and restore the settings, they picked up on their own.
That's normally the case. Rare times, it has not, and I have kicked myself. So...just an old habit. Glad it worked ok for ya.

I am suspicious of changes, probably partly due to getting old :). Is Open much better than my current (the last) CS?

To be honest, you'd have a hard time telling the difference. I run both on different systems. At times one seems snappier than the other, then vice-versa. Some of the internal code has been updated to match more closely with the latest MS build (1809), but it's hard to pinpoint any real tangible difference. CS may continue to work forever, or hit another wall like it did before MS changed some code. CS will never be updated. Open Shell is "on-going". I put that in quotes because it's an all volunteer team, but they are dedicated to keeping it up.

Long winded, but hope that helps a little.

P.S. - Hurts nothing to try it, and if you don't like it for whatever reason, go back. Very quick to do.

Thanks, staying with ongoing makes sense.

The very first download source - Github - in the very first line of comments says about the Open 4.4.131 - "Automatic settings import from Classic Shell". So I hit the button... already had the settings backed up earlier... forgot to uninstall the CS... everything went smoothly installing Open on top of CS.
Yep, looks the same and works the same.

I use Start10, but it disappears occasionally?
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

Your Start10 is probably somewhat different from Classic Shell which has been discontinued or changed for which this should have been a new/its own post.

Classic Shell 4.3.1 still works or you can use Open Shell.
