    Windows 10 Screen saver not activating

    I have a screen saver that will not activate after a few minutes; It will preview okay, just not display after a few minutes. I tried changing it to a one minute wait and nothing happens. It use to work but I may of accidentally
    changed something in power management settings. I have them now set to defaults.

    A quick list of what you might want to try first;

    • Update Windows
    • Update drivers
    • Check screen saver settings
    • Disconnect unnecessary devices
    • Clean the mouse sensor and mouse pad
    • Make sure Screensaver is activated
    • Reset Power Management Option
    • Run power troubleshooter
    • Run the SFC scan
    • Run DISM

    I can preview the screensaver however, it will no activate after the time specified had elapsed.
    I might add that no files were found that were corrupt or needed replacement.

    Have you tried unplugging / disabling both the keyboard and mouse to ensure a key/button/mouse sensor isn't stuck or covered with dirt causing them to become 'activate'.

    It was working fine last week with the keyboard and mouse plugged in. Nothing covered with dirt.

    Also the Power & Sleep is set for screen to turn off after 10 Min (it never does)
    The computer is set to NEVER.

    No probably not then. Could you try the following;

    - Unplug all external devices from the machine mouse/keyboard and see if that works.

    - Try resetting the power options back to default just to make sure.

    - Try running in CMD as Admin
    Code:
    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    I dunno about doing that. I googled this to learn more of what this does BEFORE I get involved with it.
    This looks to be a disk image session and I don't know what the consequences will be after doing this.
    i.e., will I lose installed files from other programs? This seems like drastic measures to take due to screen saver and power mgt. issues. Just being a little cautious before jumping into the deep water here.
