OK, fair enough. Let's go back to square one. What happened when you used 'Apply to folders'?

Honestly, it escapes my mind at the moment.
    What should it have done?

I think it applied the changes recursively.

It should have created a custom template based on the view settings of the folder you accessed the command from. That template is applied to both existing folders and any new folders that are the same folder type.

    Check:
    Code:
    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Defaults
to see if you have entries governing all the common types:
    Code:
    {5c4f28b5-f869-4e84-8e60-f11db97c5cc7} Generic
    {5fa96407-7e77-483c-ac93-691d05850de8} Videos
    {7d49d726-3c21-4f05-99aa-fdc2c9474656} Documents
    {94d6ddcc-4a68-4175-a374-bd584a510b78} Music
    {b3690e58-e961-423b-b687-386ebfd83239} Pictures

OK. I'll do it again just to refresh my memory.

    Thanks for the follow-up.
