Windows Spotlight still not working after bat file fix.

Windows Spotlight was stuck on the same picture on my PC. I ran the fix in the tutorial using the bat file. After rebooting the computer and checking the settings, I now no longer have Windows Spotlight listed in the dropdown menu.

"Sometimes it may take up to 24 hours after resetting for Windows Spotlight to sync again."

Does this statement mean that it may not even show in the drop down menu for 24 hrs, or did the fix not stick?

    Hello Alicia,

That statement just means that it may take up to 24 hours before Windows Spotlight starts syncing and showing properly on your lock screen. You should always still be able to select "Windows Spotlight" in Settings for your lock screen background.

If you do not have "Windows Spotlight" available in the drop menu in Settings, then please go ahead and post a full screenshot showing the "Lock screen" settings page to see if anything may stand out on it as an issue.

Brink I just went into settings again after doing a shutdown, rather then a restart, and Windows Spotlight now shows on the drop down menu again.

It is still on the same image. So I assume I should give it 24 hrs to sort itself out?

Yeah, if it doesn't change after 24 hours, run the .bat to reset it again.

I'm still stuck on the same picture so I reran the .bat file. This time Windows Spotlight was on the drop down list from the start. Now I'll wait the 24 hrs again.
