    pc processors


    I read one can: type msconfig in run
    choose boot then advanced
    Check next to number of processors -in my case from 1 to 4.
    Does this increase performance and is it advisable?
    Is there any drawback to doing so?

    No, it is not advisable. Windows will, by default use all cores and all memory on startup. As a pracitical matter, you only have 1 processor. You may have multiple cores, but only 1 processor. The only purpose I am aware of for that section is to limit resources for debugging. It should look like this.
