    Start Menu and Taskbar customization

    Hi everyone,

Does anyone have recommendations on how to customize the start menu and taskbar for a deployment image? I've tried customizing the start menu and taskbar, then exporting the configuration into a XML, but the start menu appears in two columns when I want it half way along with the taskbar settings not sticking.

    Any suggestions will be great!

I cannot deploy freeware that modifies the dock. I'm looking into customizing the start menu using an XML file.

Start10 is not Freeware, Classicshell code has been released so that others can continue to develop it on their own. Suggest looking on microsoft.com for how to modify the layout xml file. You can either develop a solution on your own using the Classicshell code, pay for Start10 or use the info at microsoft.com to do the xml coding for the layout.

I have reviewed the documentation but it doesn't specifially say how to limit the columns that appear for the tiles. Anyone else can make recommendations?

Did you go through the information at Start layout XML for desktop editions of Windows 10 (Windows 10) | Microsoft Docs ? Layout Options is how you define the columns from 1 to 2. I tried to alter the column, but it's still showing two columns instead of just one column with everything under it.

    Update:

By default, after installing Windows 10 there is are two columns (I believe thats what its called) with all the tiles. I would like there to be just one column, in which I can make sections with names and rows that go into the section. Does that makes sense?

After re-imaging a computer with my image, it defaults back into two of the columns instead of keeping it in one.
