After disabling W10 Lock Screen can you still have a Login picture?

After using a group policy to disable Windows 10 Pro's Lock Screen the wallpaper picture that had been showing during Lock and Login no longer displayed. Just get a grey background for the Login screen. I would still like to have a picture appear there. Possible, and if so, how?

    Thank you for replying, Dalchina.

All the computers I'm dealing with are running Windows 10 Pro, ver 1803 (build 17134.441).

The first tutorial you cite appears to be obsolete, or at least the referenced registry key either doesn't exist or the LockScreen key exists but is empty -- it varies from computer to computer. (And I am definitely using the correct SID) But on all the PCs the switch to enable/disable "Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen" already exists in Settings and is enabled.

The second tutorial you cite refers to a program, Win10BGChanger, which the developer has declared obsolete.

The third tutorial you cite appears to just offer a choice between displaying the "Hero" wallpaper or a solid color. My goal is to display a wallpaper image of my choice.

Despite all the computers having the identical OS version, the results after enabling the "Do not display the lock screen" policy vary and seem unpredictable. In all cases, before I enabled that policy all the computers had a lock screen/logon screen wallpaper image. After enabling it and rebooting, some PCs retained the original image, some now just show grey. This could be because some of the PCs had a custom jpeg wallpaper instead of a built-in one.

Regardless, once the "disable lock screen" policy is enabled, most of the options on the Settings > Personalization > Lock Screen page are grayed out and inaccessible. However, "Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen" is still active and works, but since everything above it is grayed out there's no way to select a different picture.

Which brings me back to my question: how do you have a custom background picture on the Login screen?

BTW, I think it's curious that the "disable lock screen" Description includes a Note: "This setting only applies to Enterprise, Education, and Server SKUs," but it definitely works on these Pro PCs. Yet the nearby "Force a specific default lock screen and logon image" has the same note and does NOT work in Pro. The latter might offer a way to specify an image file since the Settings page is largely disabled.

Hi, if you believe the tutorials to be obsolete, I'd invite you to post a comment under them- @Brink, the author, will most likely respond helpfully.

Just wondering, have you tried the obvious? I may have missed it in your comments.. I'm guessing your first post meant you had it set thus, and can now not restore an image using this:
