Windows 10: Set "Open" and "Save As" windows view to "List" instead of "Details"?

Set "Open" and "Save As" windows view to "List" instead of "Details"?

Is it possible to change "Open" and "Save As" windows view to "List" instead of "Details" globally without having to set List view in File Explorer? I would like to use Details view in File Explorer and List view for "Open" and "Save As" windows.

Can this be done via the Registry?

Try this (found by search) and see if it helps- let us know.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately neither left CTRL, nor right CTRL do the trick.

It worked for me using Wordpad; I opened a folder on another drive- that appeared in Details view.
    I selected Content view.
I then pressed left CTRL and closed the dialogue box.

    I closed Wordpad, launched it.
I opened the same folder (using a Favourites drop down added by Actual Window Manager)
    The folder view was Contents

    I tried Notepad.
Again the folder view was Contents.

N.B. expect this to only apply to open/save boxes native to windows.
Many programs may provide open/save boxes that look similar, but actually are not.
And some provide ones that are clearly custom. Thus this quest may not be particularly fruitful.

What you're doing works even without pressing the CTRL button.

But as I said in the first post, I want to change the view settings globally.

I know what you want. I have explained why that is very unlikely. It's a tough, tough, world.

You must prepare yourself for disappointment.
