Getting transparent taskbar background back (Classic Shell vs. Start)

Had been using Classic Shell and just installed its replacement, Classic Start. Taskbar color went from "transparent" to black. See screenshot of the former. What is the way to change it back? I'm not finding the way in Personalize > Colors. Thanks,

You could use Winaero Tweaker. Or go back to Classic shell.

Edit: after April update, Winaero tweaker doesn't work (for taskbar transparency), so some users recommend TranslucentTB

Thanks for the update. Translucent doesn't quite cut it. I reinstalled Shell and will write the Classic Start guru about the issue.

Interesting. What went wrong? I've tried it myself and it gives clear, or blur transparent taskbar...

Compare yours in Translucent with the Classic Shell transparent setting shown below. I like the clear delineation. Classic Start also has a taskbar > transparent option, but it doesn't do much. I've posted a comment on the github/gitter discussion.

StarIsback has several options, the one I like the most now is Acrylic:

In classic shell/start I have mine set to this:Getting transparent taskbar background back-classic_shell.png Taskbar is pretty transparent, but if you increase the value any higher than 5, say to 10, it shows a barely faint outline. Is that what you wanted?

The taskbar opacity you see in my screenshot is 25 and taskbar color 382B22.

Ok, you've pointed to the problem: Putting Classic Start at 25 (and same color code) now gets the same result.

Glad you got that figured out.
