I got an update this morning and I am just rebooting the pc now. Hopefully Microsoft is listening and this update fixes the problem.
I got the update and now my screensaver is actually working. I think you might need to reboot your pc a few times after the update to get it working. I honestly couldn't believe it..

If I set the screensaver to a given time (lets say 10 minutes) and then I do a "restart" the time of 10 minutes is still there and works fine. But if I set the time (10 minutes) and do a "shut down" and the start the PC the screensaver is defaulted to 1 minute again and doesn't work. Yes, I too received the update. I hope you have better luck then I.

At this point I would be happy with 1 min over nothing at all. I am on my third reboot and still no joy.

The problem with the "1 minute" default" is the screensaver never comes on, it defaults to 1 minutes and doesn't work.

I just looked again and sure enough my Screensaver is setting itself to 1 minute every time I reboot my machine.

I have the same problem in that the screensaver does not activate and the monitor doesn't sleep following my upgrade from windows 8.1 to 10. I can set the timeout period to any value and it does stick.

Strangely however, If I boot to the login screen and then wait the monitor sleep does kick in. If I login in it stops working. Could it be that a service that loads after login is stopping screensaver and sleep?

OK so it looks like there are others seeing the screen saver working and monitors turning off if you reboot but do not log in. I got the update yesterday and have rebooted several times and if I log into my machine, the SS does not work nor do the monitors shut down. I'm tempted to create a new test profile to log into Windows and see if the results are the same since I'm still using the profile I had in Windows 7.
