    In the Windows Registry, navigate to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile and delete the NeverShowExt String;
    restart Explorer.
    (Back up the key first!)

    Restarting File Explorer [and the older Windows Explorer] can be done in Task Manager [End Task], right-click Windows Explorer then click Restart then wait or simply reboot the computer. Yeah, there's several places in Windows they haven't gotten the name changed to File Explorer.

    Problem is, they start showing up in the Start Menu as well!
    Guess they're superhidden for a reason!

    Click image for larger version.

    Throwing third-party software into mix of things does complicate problems.

    I now use Sordum.org's Restart Explorer because it saves any open folders then re-opens them again after Explorer restarts. It just saves time and is more convenient. YMMV

    Hope this helps...
