Unfortunately this doesn't seem to work on the latest Windows 10, nor on the Insider Development Builds like 21370..

Works for me in the latest 20H2 build.....

Did you remember to restart Explorer as described in post #3 ? The change doesn't take effect until you have done so.

I rebooted the system, but it didn't make any difference...
They are links to the new type of Apps that are updated from the MS Store, they have a size of zero, perhaps they are NTFS symbolic links ?
You can see that if I use a different File Manager (Total Commander) they show as LNK, perhaps they don't have a .lnk extension, File Explorer show the same files with Attributes A L, (I think the L is for symbolic link) the size shows 0KB.

Yes, they are symbolic links, otherwise known as NTFS reparse points. To be able to manage (and optionally show overlay icons in Explorer that let you visually distinguish between) regular files/folders and symbolic links, hard links, and junctions, I recommend the free Link Shell Extension.

    Any new idea ?
    Thanks.
Had you been running with the mod in effect & then an update killed it? Or is this a clean install/new machine?

I'm still on v2004 build: 19041.928, just applied the mod & it's working here.

Please read last post above, I just changed the lnkfile hoping to see the symbolic links, but those apparently don't have a .lnk extension, so this does not apply.
