    After 1803 update can't set sign-in screen

Lenovo T530 laptop Windows 10 pro 1803 update. Update installed without any known problems. I cannot set the sign-in screen. Wasn't a problem until 1803 was installed. I have set the lock screen and I understood that this is / was the same as setting the sign-in screen. Anyone have any suggestions? TIA for any help.

    Hello Bob, :)

Double check to make sure that you have turned on the Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen setting below.

Show Lock Screen is ON. However the registry values in the tutorial don't match up with what I have after 1803. No '0' or '1' to decide what happens in my registry. Just a string of characters "SUTZW".?? Only 1 ID on that machine so I know I'm looking at the right profile. Thanks for your help.

The HideLogonBackgroundImage DWORD doesn't show in the registry by default until the setting has been toggled on/off the first time from Settings.

Did you use this below to disable the sign-in screen background image? It wouldn't hurt to check to make sure you don't have the registry DisableLogonBackgroundImage DWORD for this below.

I executed registry update , appears to have no results, see attached screen shot of target value after update was run. Ran as administrator.

The DisableLogonBackgroundImage DWORD gets deleted at that location when you have the sign-in screen background image enabled.

I was just having you double check that location to make sure it's not there.

As a test, turn off and on the Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen setting below to see if it may toggle it to work again.

Have you used any third party customization program that could affect this?

Using administrator and regedit I changed the "HideLogonBackroundImage" value to '1' on my account SID. So then when I sign-in I get a solid blue screen (as it should). Now "Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen" shows OFF. Turned it back ON, no difference, same problem, wrong picture used for sign-in, lock screen works OK.

Odd. You might see if changing the lock screen background may toggle it to show again on the sign-in screen.

Just finished installing the version "April 1803" update to Windows 10 PRO on another Lenovo laptop. It has the same problem.
