    Start Menu

I have 4 programs which should start with Windows but don't do so, namely Malwarebytes, WinPatrol , Zemana AntiLogger and Icon Restorer. I selected pin to start for all 4 but they still don't start with Windows. What can I do about this?

    C:\Users\-------\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

You need shortcuts here if they have no way of setting themselves to start automatically in the various registry keys.

Note in Winpatrol - try this:
    Start Menu-2.jpg

Win 10's start menu doesn't give you access to the Startup folder - anther reason I don't use Win 10s start menu.

dalchina, I did as you suggested but the 4 programs concerned still don't start with Windows. Any other ideas?

Do the programs launch normally from a shortcut?

Note that Winpatrol's correct startup entry is in the registry:
    Start Menu-2.jpg

If you use Sysinternals (MS's now) Autoruns (free), you can use Entry, Find to search for your startups as above.

dalchina, I can launch the programs from shortcuts, but none of the 4 programs are in the registry in the area shown in your screenshot. How do I add them to that registry location?

How a program launches is quite variable - there are several possible locations. I have only given you one illustration. You do not add them yourself.

If you cannot get Winpatrol to create that location, I suggest you have a permissions problem in your registry.
Try Tweaking.com's free cautious repair tool, go through the different stages carefully, and select only the relevant repair. (search for it- easily found).

Restart and then see if Winpatrol can create its correct startup entry.
