    How to change Thumbnail Folder icon in windows 10

    hello;

    i have changed folder icons using registry edit, and it worked. But when i change folder view option from small to large, it shows default icon. So is there any way to change thumbnail folder icon ?

    For reference i am posting below screenshots to further clear my point. as you can see in left side i have changed default folder color to BLUE FOLDER, but Folder thumbnail icons in right side are still set to default.

    I think you will find those images are in imageres.dll.

    For example, having changed resources in that programmatically
    (i.e. can be easily reproduced when imageres.dll is replaced by SFC /SCANNOW , and upgrade or upgrade repair or DISM command)
    I have

    I used Icon changer:
    Damian's Homepage
    - comes with a library of some 77 Win 7 icons, including e.g. My computer (This PC) and the Recycle Bin e.g.

    You can construct your own icon library.
    It creates a new version of imageres.dll - the program is meant to replace the old one by pressing a button, but I never got that to work and had to replace the dll manually.
