    Customising the right-click context menu

Hi, I hope someone here can help me out. I want to customise the context menu, the one that pops up when you right-click the mouse. I just want to re-arrange some of the menu options that are available and possibly delete (if possible) some others that I don't need or even use.

Is there a simple way of doing this or am I going to have to delve into the registery?

    Thanks for your help.

May be a combination of both. There ways, but be careful. You should back up your system first, or at least backup the registry by creating a Restore Point. Take a look here:

This is a more complex area than it looks. @tomcat has given you a good selection of tools.

Some tools are freeware, some not as you'd expect. Some add fixed items. Some allow you to disable items you don't want. Some allow you to specify detailed aspects of what you add. You may need to use one or more to find an appropriate set of functions for what you want to do.

Some context entries are hard coded like cut, paste and you can't do anything with them.

I like Right Click Configurator (not free).

    Free:
Shellexmenuview (background) allows you access to the registry entry an more for each context menu entry if you right click it.

Filemenu tools offers more options than you first expect:

Hi, I use these 3 reg files, thanks to Brink... If you want you can search in this forum - easy to merge, work well and are small in size. If you can't find them write back and I will send you the links later tonight. Have to work now a bit...
