For instance, she brought home another small vacuum cleaner someone gave her on Friday. This makes 3 we have now, not counting the 2 big ones we have.

Be glad it's only one thing. My Wife collects appliances & kitchen wares, along with plastic containers. We have 4 garbage bags full of plastic containers. She says "we might need them someday."

But yes, you are right, as you get older you start to look at all the stuff you have and you start to think, why the hell did I think needed all this stuff when I was younger.
