Used to have hot water heat. Loved it. Monitored outdoor temp, indoor temp and speed at which water temp was rising. Gas guy showed up to do a mandatory inspection of all gas pipes in house and had no idea how to make it fire in summer. Said it looked good and left. Used radiant floor in basement, very cozy, especially if you had back problem and you knew where pipes were concentrated.

We got a new furnace a year back. The old one was simple, it had 2 or 3 switches that turned the gas on when the thermostat connected, then after about 5 mins the pump turned on, at a certain temp the gas would shut off & the pump kept going until the water got down to a certain temp.

The new one we got has a #$%^&* computer board, a closing vent on the furnace vent, all kinds off useless #$%^*( that it DOESN'T need.

Oh, an the 1st board on the new furnace....was broke. So they had to order another one, the next day they tried to put it in.....it too didn't work. 3 was a charm but as far as I'm concerned, this is a case of overthinking it & adding waaay too much crap to something simple.

So much for bad weather here. 2cm at most of snow. (less than an inch). Cold though 9F feeling like -4F (-13c feeling like -20c)

Just had the furnace guy here. What a scam. Bought new furnace last year with 10 year warranty. To keep the warranty valid you must get yearly service. So even after just one year I'm shelling out over $100. Almost hoping something terrible goes on it just to get even.
