For those following my sad wireless story on the N band, it has been resolved. Took the old device out, said some kind words and buried it.

New router now produces 50+Mbps on wife's laptop, was 2-3Mbps.

Happy wife = happy life. Actually she didn't mind speed, it was driving me nuts.

They say as you get older you lose patience. That is crap, you just know the difference between what is working and what is not.

Sorry, got off track.

I got a Netgear Nighthawk X8. This was a highly recommended router using the link Andre and Mike supplied. Thank you.

I got a good deal with my business account and will be looking into how I might apply tax adjustments.
