I did not have anything to drink last night. My system was really put out & I was feeling crappy. Adding alcohol to the mix would not have been a good idea.

    See, I can adult responsibly......sometimes
That's good. A bottle of wine will be calling me later this evening to wash down dinner.

I only have them to get me out of a hypo. A couple of those and your glucose level quickly rise back to the acceptable levels. You have to be careful not to overdo it of course.
Yeah, I might look into those because they may raise my levels quicker without the waiting for the food to kick in.

So you know that feeling when you get that way & you eat everything in sight, especially anything sugar that's in front of you.

I'm aware it's better to eat something with protein & let your levels come up by themselves, but the junk food was there & I went crazy. I've found the older I get, you don't bounce back from something like that as fast as you did when you were younger. Used to be I got shaky, a candy bar or a spoon of peanut butter & 10 mins later I was good. Takes a lot longer now to get back to your normal self

That was the recommendation I had from the nurse that ran the diabetic clinic when I was first diagnosed. I've only had a couple of hypos both just before lunch. I have changed the way I take my meds during the day and I've not had one since.
