The buffing is worth the effort, simply beautiful! Glad you like the video Captain, it made me laugh. Haven't watch enough people launching their boats into the water to see those screw ups. We never used a ramp for our small aluminum boat or canoe.

Timelapse video of a cargo ship at sea for 30 days.

30 Days of Timelapse, about 80,000 photos combined. 1500GB of Project files. Sailing in the open ocean is a unique feeling and experience.I hope to capture and share it for everyone to see. Route was from Red Sea -- Gulf of Aden -- Indian Ocean -- Colombo -- Malacca Strait -- Singapore -- South East China Sea -- Hong Kong

Yeah I thin that was pretty cool video.
I thought about doing something with me up in the wheel house over looking us working and sailing; then put it on You-tube. I have to clear it with the boss man. I may be the captain of the boat but I don't own it lol. If he found some video he'd flip and kills us all. On a side note it would be awesome
if we sailing at warp 9 speed. That would be so star trek.

    Note to Win10 StaffAdmins.
I'm sorry for necro posting in advance!
I can't be on this all the time I've tried to do my
best I do see it's 94 day old thread but I figured more folks
could or would have posted in my leave.

Saw this on TV today, bad boat crash, one I hope to never experience when out fishing. The guy steering the larger boat supposedly was sitting, didn't see the small boat, and was busy texting on his cell phone.

As for the video above yeah you get some stupid fake or credit card captains
out there who think they own the Oceans/Lakes. Hope the folks in the video are okay.
There are several Colregs rules violated by both parties here. If a boats coming at you and you are unable to get their attention, then you fall under two rules. One is to avoid collision with the vessel if you can. The other is if the possibility of danger is assessed then YOU, may depart from the rules noted in the Colregs Manual and get the heck out of danger.

Hi Captain, good to see you again! My father used to take us out on the bay fishing in his small wooden sailboat (minus the sails). It was broad in the beam and very seaworthy, always did well on afternoons when we were returning home after a day's worth of fishing.

I was little, so I stayed under the poop deck when weather was foul. He was always aware of other boats around, but maybe back in those days, late 50s, early 60s, people were more responsible and considerate.

Never remember having a close call with another boat, just maybe a disturbing wake created by a bigger boat that was going too fast and too close.

    BigFoot,
Yeah I think you touched on a lot of what I've noticed. It's
not just out on the water. Young people seem to be far less aware
of the dangers around them anywhere. Folks back that were in fact more
mature for their age then now and this more responsible. I've
ran over far too many anchor balls to count as younger boaters
anchor directly into the shipping channel.

I agree about some of the younger people not being as aware as we were back in the day. Thank you for replying in this thread, always nice to see you and I hope you're healthy and doing well. Regards.
