Never had any interest in those portable drives, I just buy a regular HD and use what I call my PoP Up Toaster, works real well for backups and anything else you want, plus also works with most SSD's too.

Firefox users may want to have a look at this article. I think I found the reason for the pop ups every time I close FF. It says you can bump the process count up, so that may help. Also, they make a tool to check which plug in is not multiprocess capable.

My FF has never done that Borg, but I only use about 3 addon's ....
