    Google made Nik free sometime last year, maybe the year before. That said, I highly recommend Google's Nik to any photographer looking for photo plug-ins, especially a B&W one in the famed Nik Silver Efx. I've been using this program since 2012 when I bought the collection for $249.

    Did these with Nik's Silver Efx and a couple of other filters...

    Wow I really like this one

    Too bad it's too small for a wallpaper(4K)
    Thanks. Glad you like it. The sizing is to keep people at bay. I am trying to make a living :)

    @kado897, thanks :)

    Just to clarify things i know that the NIK collection has been available for free from Google for a while, what I had just found out, and was pleased with, was that it works with Adobe Bridge in addition to Photoshop and Lightroom so people who do not have access to the expensive packages can use NIK to create great images.

    One that may be of use to those producing images for wallpapers is the HDR package which can take a simple image and create something different

    The above image is actually created with another commercial package Photomatrix Pro, but similar effects are available with the NIK HDR Package

    This image was cropped and colour corrected in lightroom then transferred as a TIFF to Photomatrix Pro for several passes of the HDR filters and then returned to Lightroom for final finishing

    It a great effect Nigel.

    From what I can see only the HDREfex Pro 2 plugin integrates with Bridge but others can be used stand alone. These can also be used by GIMP via the Shellout Plugin.
