Yes it was. Our father was all about business/working and making money. Not much of a dad sad to say. Our mother worked at home raising us 12 kids. She had a great voice and brought the arts into the home. Being of the WWII generation she enjoyed big band and the crooners. Our oldest brother and some cousins were 8-10 years older than I listened to early Rock n Roll for my exposure to that. Then came the 60's Rock n Roll explosion during my high school years. What a great era! :)

I first got exposed to rock in 1957 when I spent three months in hospital. I was one of the youngest in the ward and the older ones played rock all the time.

I had an infected hip joint. I spent two months strapped to what resembled a medieval rack to keep the joint separated and another month recovering my strength. I was twelve at the time and I've not had any problem with it since.
