Well I clean my PC about every two months and it is getting harder and harder. I have to do it on the floor. I have a table in the basement, but not the strength anymore to carry it down there. I have a HAF 912 case and the reason I got it was due to it airflow design. It also was only 59.99 at the time. I did not have a corsiar H75 CPU cooler and all of my drive were hard. There is a 200mm fan in front and in order to clean it you have to take the front of the case off, remove the filter and wash and dry it. It is a PITA to get back on. But such is life. It was dirty and my EVGA 1060's fan was dirty. Now my GPU temps are normal. It should not be at 36 C when at idle. I may lenghten the time to ever 3 months. I knew a guy that use to clean his once a wek and I mean clean, he would remove everything MOBO and all, The only thing I take out is my GPU.

I've been waiting for this, I can tell when they are doing an update as it starts to freeze and
I got a black screen last night.
I checked for an update about half an hour ago.

I suppose if your computer is VERY Old and Slow, then maybe Mbam could slow down your computer, but I have never seen it do this, on the 4 computers I've run it on in the past.
It doesn't matter how powerful your PC is, it's going to slow it down. It may not be as noticeable with newer, more powerful machines, but it's going to slow it down.

    I also don't spend 40 dollars a year for MalwareBytes, as I have 2 lifetime licenses :)
That's you. I was addressing Wynona on the cost. You probably got in it early enough to where they were giving the crap away or at low cost for the lifetime license. It's like PT Barnum said > "There's a sucker born every minute".

One of our members, Art, who is an export in AV that works that aspect of IT for a very large US corporation states that Defender is the best around. I'll take the experts advise. Don't need to spend money.
