What operating system for a stroke patient?

What operating system for a stroke patient? She still in her right mind. My question is how to set up a computer for person not seeing correctly with their left eye when she comes home. Operating systems currently installed is Windows 7 service pack 1 & Linux Mint 18.x How would you set it up for this person, so she can read correctly? Thank you for any suggestions, ideas or comments.

I don't know How bad her vision will be, but you could look into something like this, if needed JAWS for Windows | Disability Resources Educational Services - University of Illinois

Windows also has a screen magnifier. It would take some getting used to, but it is an option.

Thank you. Just got to wait & see if they will do in patient therapy because of the eye issue waiting on more test. I hope they do. I really don't want her to go to a nursing home unless she has to. Its my elderly mother, she likes reading the web & watching tv. Dispute the 2nd stroke, she still in her right mind.

Hi groze. Sorry about your mother.
I have a legally blind brother who uses ZoomText Magnifier/Reader for work.
