How Do You Begin Navigation? (Old poll: What Start Menu do you use?)

This is the second round of this poll. The results of the first poll are posted below and found here at the top of each page: What Start Menu do you use? - - Windows 10 Forums

In this round I retitled it and I’ve added two new categories of “Taskbar only” and "A combination of the above", for I found via posted comments that some needed those choices. The poll will remain the same hereafter.

With some of these choices you may have the Start Menu, but do not use it at all or you may start with the Start Menu, but thereafter you use other means. In other words, the goal here is to tally everyone’s most frequent and main means of opening programs/apps to start/begin navigation while using your PC/Device.

This poll will close upon a new RTM (Release To Manufacturers) upgrade edition (aka approved for OEM release). This does not include ongoing Insider builds, however Insiders, of course, are qualified to vote or revote. If at any time you change your means of navigation, you may unvote and revote to reflect those changes and we urge you do so, especially right before the next edition release. There will be a new poll for every new OEM edition.

One of the main goals here is to compare usage as Windows 10 evolves from version to version. Another is to exchange ideas on how all begin to navigate and why you use your means to do so. It may help others. Posting comments after voting is very important, therefore we ask you to do that, please.

Good luck on your new OEM edition and/or Insider build installations. If you are new here, welcome to Windows Ten Forums. Enjoy your stay.

I'm a keyboarder, so I use choice #1 almost exclusively. Push the Windows key with one hand and right or left mouse click a tile with the other. I pin as much as I can to it and categorize in groups. Apps/programs and drives/folders. I occasionally use the Power user context menu (WinKey/X), but most of those I pin the Start Screen or use combo keys. I back up the Start Screen so to use again even though it's backed up in my MS account. One can never be too cautious IMO.

Because I'm first to vote, 100% of me uses first method.
Although I occasionally use desktop icons and/or icon on a taskbar. If I start computer for internet, there's FF on taskbar and desktop, if I have to do something with files, there's Total Commander in those places too.

    "Begin Navigation"...

Browser and File Explorer from Taskbar,

occasional trip to the Menu/just All Apps or right click context menu for an infrequent utility or application.

Same issue with last poll. It's a combination. Not just one in lieu of all others. A blend...the easiest and most convenient depending on what I'm doing. Not having a choice "Some of Each", I had to pick one, or just not vote.
Have the same dilema Real hard to decide, since my interaction with system is spread all over this answers. Most accessed programs are on taskbar, some interaction through Action center (which is again taskbar, but more like a part of Start menu connection by system), All modern apps, except Settings, are accessed by Start menu tiles (some by Start menu - menu part) and also have some desktop shortcuts.

Will decide later how to vote

I now have to say 4 and 5, now the question has changed - meaning I always allow anything I install to drop a desktop shortcut, but I hide all desktop icons and run the desktop toolbar from the taskbar - this keeps everything tidy, and stops me from dropping everything onto the desktop and having to clear it out every so often (or dump it all in a folder (often nested) called "old desktop", or sometimes "glory hole" - which mean an oubliette - a place where you forget about all the nasty things you put in it, as I used to do up till Windows XP.

Then I get rid of the desktop toolbar title and the text names of the links, and move the toolbar to the far left of the taskbar next to the button with Cortana etc. unpinned or hidden, and the pinned taskbar icons slid to the right of that, so I can do this with one click then move the cursor across to select the item with a second click:

I pin stuff from the taskbar if I use them often, like the legacy Defender UI, Paint, Wordpad, Notepad, and Settings so I don't need to use , which I find a gaudy distraction.

    I'll vote 4.
