    Can I just complain about W10 for a minute...


    I realize this is OT section of forum. Didn't know exactly where to put this and since a thread like this could easily take a turn for the worst, figured OT wasn't a bad place to start. Mods can do whatever they want with this...


    The bitching: I've absolutely had it with W8 and W10 (pro, x64). I'm sick and tired of all the crap, the loss of user control, the bloatware, the bullshit crap they keep re-installing over & over every time the OS auto-updates (without my permission)... The MRT permission requests at every reboot, etc.

    Now that MSFT owns Skype you'd think they would make it work with their OS'es... but nope, Skype keeps crashing which means my RDP keeps breaking. And I've never seen this before but for some reason whenever Skype breaks the machine truncates my login domain after the '.' (period) so mydomain.tld becomes just 'mydomain'... which means another login from the console so I can RDP.



    This is becoming such a problem that I've been spending a considerable amount of time getting all of my software to run properly on Linux OS (Ubuntu). Are there any decent Windows OS left or have they all gone to crap? I feel like a dinosaur using a traditional desktop --but it's for work so I don't really have a choice... If I could have W7x64 back (with Themes turned off) I'd love it but this is too much. Do I have any alternatives or is ditching MSFT my only choice/option?

    I like windows 10. Been as stable as 7 for me.

    Use Skype at work on 10, without issue.

    Can you elaborate on the password requests at every logon you are seeing?

This happens on Lenovo Thinkpad W550s with Win10 Pro. I do not have Lenovo crapware on it, because I did a clean, generic install about 1.5 year ago. I have never had this problem on a Windows desktop with Win10Pro or a Dell laptop with Win10 Pro....
