Microsoft's own figures show Windows 10 losing market share, while Windows 7 is on the rise
    By Wayne Williams

According to NetMarketShare, Windows 10's usage share growth has stalled recently. It lost some share in February, and made only very minor gains in March. The analyst firm’s numbers seem to suggest that Windows 10 has run out of steam.

It could just be down to increasing 'Telemetry' on Windows 7. Recently the trend is that windows updates will turn it on if you just install the recommended updates without checking what they do. Note that MS say...

The Windows usage data is obtained from customers who have opted to send us telemetry data.

That may be 'opted' as in 'I didn't notice it has just been turned on'.

For me if I wanted to use Windows (Which I dont have a choice due to some software I need/use only works on Windows) and keep it updated with security fixes, I had to install WIndows 10, since my hardware despite working perfectly fine with Windows 7 and having updated fine till now, will no longer be supported by MS.

The downside to all of this is Windows 10 is too buggy and some updates make it even more unstable, and I spend more time fixing than using these days (thats how it feels).

Microsoft should start listening to the users and actually provide the product people want and not force unnecessary things and make things opt in rather than opt out.
