If you mean what did he have before Bill just normal white bread. One of the top people at the hospital dealing with diabetes told him it's the carbs he should be watching rather than the sugar content and go for slow release food rather than the quick burst ones. Mind you he's finicky when it comes to food and what he likes and doesn't like, plus he says one dietician will tell you one thing then another something completely different, oh and they look as if they could all do with a good mean as they're all skinny.
When it comes to food, it is all about the right balance of everything. The human body needs it all, but most has too much of something and too little of something else, mostly all the bad stuff like a lot of carbs and almost no proteins, fibers, minerals, acids nor vitamins. Also having regular eating habits and sleeping habits helps a lot to fight most "diseases" we encounter today. Even some "diabetics" can be "magically cured" by changing eating habits. (Not true for all cases though)
He knows all that, he's got his sugars down considerably, his diabetes is age related so is controlled by tablets and food he's not the best to try and get to change the habits of a lifetime, although he is trying more now but he should have done it a few years ago.
A bit hard to make a sandwich though don't you think.
Hehe! I didn't know if you were answering me or Steph Bill not got my mind back into focus properly yet.
