Yes they do. I guess there's also a big difference in quality between premium devices and lower end consumer devices.

Kari can you open it up and look at it's PCB?
Maybe a capacitor blew/melted, if that model had cheap one.

There was a problem with caps way back on motherboards.

Which is why most motherboard ads show something like this these days:
Not the sound quality, but because of over all quality now.

Hahah! This is why NO ONE needs guns when not in line of duty. Also while working, certain professional behavior should be maintained.

Where was the safety? Stuff like that should never be possible to happen, except in America.

What an idiot, the gun had to have a round loaded, cocked and unlocked and it still didn't fire until he grabbed it wrong way. I have an NRA safety handgun instructor certification and thought safety in shooting clubs. If it was a Glock pistol it couldn't happen because it's double action only.

My external display went crazy half an hour ago, it's now looking like this:

    Attachment 191103

At the moment it happened, it caused a GSOD (Insider version of BSOD). Rebooting the laptop, no external display was recognized.

Checked the receipts I have, the display is today 2 years and 17 days old, full 17 days after the warranty ran out. Just my luck!

Kari, do you have a VGA connector/connection on the laptop? If so, maybe you could connect a monitor to it?

I had a dell monitor fail on me and by googling found the web site http://www.badcaps.com. Took it apart looking for the tale tell indication of cheap/failed electrolytic capacitor. Good ones are supposed to be flat on top, bad ones are usually crowned (if not blown). Took inventory of all crowned caps, went to digikey and got replacements, about $10 worth. Monitor is back in action to this day. YMMV
