Whew, yeah I was FINALLY able to get through to Frank and his Mom was evacuated early to safety. From the reports I think most if not all of my friends there should be ok. Some of the Bosses will undoubtedly be flooded out as the Alafia river is their go to place for their homes. But the winter quarters , for the most part, are in less "desirable" areas of town. The w.q.'s are where most of the workers (the people I know and hang with) stay. Property damage there but not much else. Thank goodness its still the season and everyone's still out working. Some mighty big fairs coming up for some of them and a LOT of those will be/are in the path of flooding/emergency. Savanah , Atlanta , Raleigh ,Spartanburg, etc. are all mighty big parts of the entire seasons profits. Afraid there will be a lot of ramen noodle days this winter for my friends. Better than the alternative I suppose.

Glad to hear your good news also HippsieGypsie. Things could have been much much worse.

Thank you! Yes I was really starting to worry there for a bit. I've been able to get in touch with everyone except Tick Tock and he's AWAYS hard to find. I'm sure he's ok though, somebody would have heard if otherwise.

Sure your wife didn't make that hurricane?

She could have. I use to tell her that she's full of hot air.

Just back from a Doctors appointment and feel I have to give a shout out to the Veterans Administration's health care people. It seems like you never hear anything good about the V.A., it's always about long waits or incompetent staff or something similar to this. In MY experience the V.A. provides top notch care delivered by a caring, competent staff. My doctor is beyond praise quite frankly and the non-medical staff at my primary care facility AND at the Hospital have never been anything but cheerful, friendly and helpful. I've had to use three other hospital's in the V.A. system , Tampa Florida's, Lake City Florida and Johnson City Tennessee's and the same held true there also. (Well, to be totally honest Tampa's ....... qualification (?) person was a little short with me but everyone has a bad day occasionally) I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes or so when using the ER either!
Quality care, friendly respectful staff ........ what more could you ask for? I know none of them are here (I guess?) but I want to give all my V.A. healthcare provider's a heartfelt Thank You!
