That's great news, Winuser! :)
My daughter, son-in-law, and two granddaughters, which are an hour NE of Tamps haven't decided yet what they will do. They are prepared to leave if need be. Also have 3 sisters that live more south, but are flying up today for our sibling reunion this weekend. Their flight home may be delayed. Irma is expected to hit the Keys on Sunday. We shall see how it goes.
Today I'm really starting to worry about my friends in Florida. As some of you know, mostly the people I know from 7 forums, I usually spend the winters in Gibsonton Florida. Its just south of Tampa, a suburb really and looks like it will get hit hard. Most of the friends I have there would be out on the road working now but there's still some there looking after the various Winter Quarters the different shows have. Plus their families who stay in Tampa, Riverview, and Gibsonton year round. I can't get in touch with my best friends Mother who lives in Tampa .......... she's 84 and lives alone during the spring/summer/fall until Frank gets off the road. I'm starting to get scared for her and my other friends there as I cannot get in touch with any of them.
Wishing all our Floridian neighbors the best. Hoping Jose fizzles off in the Atlantic as well. A Guy
A friend's of mine and his family are holed in an apartment in Tampa on 6th floor, keeping in touch thru FB which cuts out every now and than.
Hi, All. Just got back from my sibling reunion. My daughter and family dodged the bullet with Irma. The powered flickered, but never failed. Some minor problems, but overall ok. Thank God!
Hope your friends all made it through ok, @indianacarnie.
Now to catch up on a lot of reading here....
